The data reviewed herein exhibit that U-47700 can be a potent MOR agonist, which poses profound hazards to public health and basic safety. U-47700 and its analogs are typical examples of chemical entities which were diverted with the patent and medicinal chemistry literature for destructive applications. Whilst several U-compounds have reached leis
